Our Instructors

We have outstanding instructors with varying styles so you can learn from different perspectives. All are well trained in Yoga philosophy, anatomy, physical postures, and breath techniques. They have a lot to offer!

Jamie Hermansen

I attended my first Yoga class with an open mind and high expectations. I knew that yoga had the potential to transform your body, soothe your mind, and help you connect with spirit, and I wanted that for myself. I was not disappointed, and I left that class having found my missing piece (peace!).

I took teacher training not long after beginning my Yoga practice and received my RYT-200 and RYT-500 certifications with Feel Better Yoga School under the expert training of a pioneer in modern Yoga techniques, Karen Quinn.

I have spent the last 15 years studying and adhering to the 8 Limb Path of Yoga. I apply the Yamas and the Niyamas (the first two limbs of Yoga) on and off the mat and am continuously amazed at how effective these simple virtues and practices are. They are like the guidebook to my life.

I weave one of these virtues or practices into the theme of my group classes because I feel it is my Dharma to share Yoga philosophy with my students. I love helping others find their missing piece.

Yoga balances me and keeps me grounded when life gets a little crazy!  It reminds me to pause, breathe, and find stillness—something I had been forgetting to do for most of my life.

I discovered the gift of yoga in 2003, at a prenatal class when I was pregnant with my son. I fell in love with the practice and the way it made me feel connected and at peace with my changing body. I felt inspired to share this gift with others, so in 2009 I completed 200-hour yoga teacher training under the wisdom and guidance of Karen Quinn (Feel Better Yoga).  Then, in 2015 I completed another 300 hours of training with the wonderful mentors at Samadhi Yoga Denver.  Over the years I’ve studied with many great teachers around the world, always thirsting for more knowledge and experience —but my greatest teachers have always been my students.

I teach both Hatha Flow and Yin Yoga, with each class reflecting the many influences and insights I’ve gathered along the way. My classes are designed to be supportive and inclusive, with a focus on proper alignment, breath awareness, and self-exploration.  My intention is to always offer a fresh and creative experience that reflects the hearts and minds of all who are present.

I discovered yoga in the early 90s in college. I took an elective yoga class simply out of curiosity. What made me keep coming back was how balanced and relaxed it made me during and after class. Over the years I have practiced different styles, including Iyengar and Bikram.

After many years of practicing yoga, I felt inspired to get my 200 hour teacher training in 2019 at Rishi’s Community Yoga with Feel Better Yoga School. I went on to get a 60 hour Yoga Nidra certification in 2023, studying with Jeremy Wolf. I completed my 300 hour training at Samadhi Yoga Sangha in 2024. Between all those training, I continued my yoga education with a variety of focuses including senior yoga. I have benefited from studying with a number of great teachers.

I enjoy teaching gentle yoga where we take the time to arrive in poses and mindfully move from one to the other. I find most people who come to my classes are ready to slow down and rest from the stress of everyday life. Managing the stress of our current world and lives is also why I became certified in Yoga Nidra.

However students arrive to class, I love watching them walk out the door in a calm and centered state. I also love our fun Fridays of Yogalates. It’s an interactive class where we have a good laugh and receive nourishment for the body and soul.

My yoga practice began nearly twenty years ago in a gym setting.  Once I began yoga classes I could intuitively tell it was more than just exercise; the focus on breath and mindfulness made it a much deeper experience.  I bounced around with my practice at various studios and settings until 2022 when I decided to delve deeper and take a 200hr yoga teacher training at Denver Yoga Underground.

As a former therapist and career social worker I was experiencing the weight and stress of my job and I was looking for support and healing.  Additionally, I knew yoga as a powerful medicine for trauma and could benefit the population I worked with.  Once my initial training was complete I found opportunities to share what I learned with adolescents and continued my personal study on the benefits of yoga for victims of trauma and other mental health symptoms.

I continued to grow personally from my practice and in 2024 completed a 300hr training again through Denver Yoga Underground.  In the interim I have received additional trainings in Restorative Yoga.

The benefits of yoga have been more far reaching than I ever could have imagined.  The healing, integration and sense of peace it has brought to me is something I hope to be able to share with students that come to my class.

What I love most about teaching is sharing an experience of wholeness and integration, my greatest hope is you will leave my class feeling connected, grounded and calmed.

Kinzie Ramirez

Yoga first came into my life when I was 11 years old, thanks to my magical soul sister and maternal grandmother, Heidi. It saved my life at 14 when eating disorders nearly killed me.

Since then, I have gotten certified in yoga (through the American Yoga Academy) and sound healing (through Life Changing Energy) to help pursue my passion of guiding people to remember the path back to their authentic souls. I am a permanent student of life; As I continue to collect wisdom from the universe, I infuse it into everything I offer.

My classes are focused on self-love, embodiment, and true connection to self. I end every class with a crystal bowl bath for shavasana.

My favorite part of teaching yoga is connection. I love to connect with each of my students and share sacred space with them. I get the pleasure of bearing witness to the transformational journeys each of my students experience while simultaneously partaking in my own. This is such a beautiful life and I am immensely grateful to the practice of yoga for allowing me to savor that divinity in such a unique manner, one much deeper than the five senses.

Mira Mae Wiley

I’ve always been drawn to yoga - from an early age I was asking questions and rarely finding external answers which felt adequate. As I grew older I was intrigued by various philosophies and religions - the ways humans have historically made sense of our experience. Yoga was the first practice which encouraged me to trust myself. To inquire within. Yoga brought a newfound sense of confidence and contentment in body and mind.

I deepened my practice formally in 2022, earning my 200-hr training certificate with Derik Eselius and Beth Sanchez of Denver Yoga Underground. I continued, completing an additional 300-hr training with the same organization in 2024.

I specialize in Hatha yoga, mindful meditative movement - intimately connecting breath and movement and incorporating ancient philosophy and techniques that extend beyond the mat.

Lisa Walker

Rooted in the philosophy of movement and mindfulness, I am a heart-led yoga teacher, and certified holistic nutritionist. My journey began with a long career in the energy sector, but as life brought unexpected changes and anxiety, I found solace and transformation on my yoga mat.

Yoga captured both my heart and soul, guiding me from my first power vinyasa class to a deeper personal practice and ultimately a 200-hour YTT certification with Kindness Yoga.

Experiencing a sense of purpose for the first time, and Inspired by the resilience of the twisted pines of the Colorado Rockies, I left corporate life to found Twisted Tree Enterprises, LLC—a venture dedicated to helping others find strength, presence, and connection. Over the past nine years, I have studied with teachers like Rod Stryker, Jeremy Wolf, Bernie Clark and others, expanding my expertise to include not only Restorative, Yin and Yoga Nidra meditation but also holistic nutrition.

I believe that movement, stillness, and nourishment support us in becoming flexible and strong—both in body and spirit.

My teaching style is slow and intentional, focused on genuine connection and encouraging others to discover their roots to thrive with grace through life’s twists and turns.

Juli Barnum

I first discovered yoga as a grounding practice that kept calling me back, even when I felt intimidated walking into new studios. One teacher’s kindness and openness changed everything for me, I’ll never forget how she welcomed me with open arms. That moment continues to inspire how I show up in each of my classes: creating a safe, supportive space where everyone feels seen, accepted, and free to be themselves.

I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Denver Yoga Underground in May 2025, under the wonderful guidance of Derik Eselius and Beth Sanchez.

My teaching style blends intentional, breath-led flow with mindfulness, helping students reconnect to the earth, to one another, and, most importantly, to themselves. Expect slow, grounding, and heart-centered sequences that invite gratitude, growth, and joy.

My favorite part of teaching is witnessing students drop into presence, whether through a deep breath, a moment of stillness, or the spark of joy that comes from moving freely.

Ariel Ambar

I first discovered yoga during a stressful time, drawn to its blend of mindful movement, breath, and inner calm. Though I grew up meditating in the Hindu temple, I deepened my practice by completing my RYT‑200 training at Suryaside in New York in April 2024.

Since moving to Colorado in March, I’ve continued expanding my teaching and practice locally.

I specialize in gentle Vinyasa, Yin, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, and chakra-based work, often integrating meditation and Ayurvedic teachings.

Jeannine DiPerna

As a former gymnast, I was first drawn to yoga through its athleticism and focus — I loved the challenge, the flow, and especially being upside down! My early practice was rooted in Ashtanga and Power Vinyasa, but over time, I discovered that yoga offered so much more than physical strength. It became a grounding, healing practice that supports mindfulness, balance, and self-compassion, both on and off the mat.

After several years of personal practice, I completed my independent study RYT-200 certification with Yoga Alliance in 2004 which laid a strong foundation in asana, alignment, and philosophy. Since then, I’ve been teaching and practicing throughout the foothills and west side of Denver for over two decades — continually learning, growing, and evolving both as a teacher and as a lifelong student of yoga.

My teaching background includes Ashtanga, Power, Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Therapeutic Yoga.  I also share my love of Bhakti Yoga through Kirtan and devotional chanting, offering lead and background vocals to this practice. My classes often weave together strength and stillness — helping students connect more deeply to their breath, body, and present moment.
