Carl Jung was an influential thinker and the founder of analytical psychology. His teachings emphasized the importance of balance and harmony. In 1938 Jung traveled to India. The journey left him inspired, mystified, and deeply changed. From his experience, Jung developed a central concept that was influenced by yoga and the Vedic philosophy -- the existence of a transcendent Self at the core of the psyche.

Benefits of Jungian techniques can be especially helpful for people who are struggling to move beyond the early traumas that hinder meditation and manifest somatically in yoga practice.

Bob Bongiovanni has lectured and taught courses on Jungian thought for over 15 years. He is the founder of and principal lecturer at The Jungian Circle, a Denver-based discussion group. He has guest lectured with Jung Societies in Denver and Colorado Springs. For the past 20 years, Bob has applied Jungian concepts to public health issues, including sexuality education and drug prevention. He has a master’s degree in community psychology from Regis University and was certified by both the Jung Foundation of Colorado and the Jung Association of Therapists and Teachers. In 2004, he retraced Jung’s journey to India.
